The end of project results and sustainability workshop was conducted from 14 to 16 October 2019 at the International Training Center of the ILO in Turin to facilitate an in-depth analysis on Project outcomes and impact on OSH for young workers. In collaboration with project constituents drawn from all eight countries, the workshop participants generated concise, actionable recommendations on how to incorporate lessons from the project into initiatives for continuous improvement of OSH national systems and future development cooperation projects.
The workshop methodology used interactive methods to explore participants’ knowledge and experience and to facilitate involvement and ownership in the workshop process and activities. Workshop recommendations were drawn from the Project’s four main objectives: (1) collect and effectively use timely and relevant OSH data; (2) strengthen legal and policy frameworks to better protect young workers; (3) strengthen the capacity of tripartite partners to address workplace hazards and risks; and, (4) increase global knowledge and awareness of the hazards and risks faced by young workers.
