During the first five months of 2017 approximately 5.99 million new jobs were created in China’s Urban regions, up by 220,000 compared to the previous year, reports China Daily with figures from the Chinese Bureau of Statistics. Liu Aihua, spokesperson for the Bureau of Statistics stated that the figures mean China has met 54.4% of its goal to create 11 million new jobs this year while describing the employment situation in the country as “very stable” and “positive”. China’s expanding service sector and new business models helped fuel the growth of new jobs.
