A bill passed earlier this month in New York City would require artificial intelligence tools used in hiring to undergo a bias audit, PCMag reported. It would also require candidates to be notified about the use of such tools. Those that fail the bias audits will be subject to a fine of up to $1,500 per violation. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has until Dec. 10 to sign the bill, veto it or allow it to become law without being signed.
