Staffing hours worked during the week ended Sept. 11 rose 25% year over year, but fell 1% compared to the previous week, according to the latest SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator, released today by Staffing Industry Analysts.

Professional staffing hours worked were down week over week, probably due to Labor Day holiday.

Week ending Sept. 11, 2021 Indexed value Year over year Week over week
US staffing 102 +25% -1.0%
Commercial staffing 91 +18% 0.0%
Professional staffing 124 +32% -3.6%

The SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator measures hours worked.

It comprises two sets of analyses: a year-over-year comparison showing how the most recent week compared to the same week 12 months previously and an indexed value that has been benchmarked against data from the week ended Jan. 19, 2019.

In the week ended Sept. 11, the index value was 102, following readings of 103 and 104 in the prior two weeks.
