A new CareerBuilder survey found that 12% of workers say they have felt sexually harassed at work with 17% of women saying they have and 7% of men. However, the report found that a majority of those who experience harassment, 72%, do not report it.

Those who did not report sexual harassment most often did not because they didn’t want to be labeled a troublemaker, said it was their word against the other person or were afraid of losing their job.

Another finding: 28% of those who felt sexual harassment at work said they were sexually harassed by their boss.

Of those who did report the sexual harassment, 76% said the issue was resolved, 29% said the person stopped the harassment and 21% said the person was fired.

The survey also found that 13% left their job because of sexual harassment.

CareerBuilder’s survey included 809 responses from US employees and was taken between Nov. 28 and Dec. 20.
