New regulations from the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) clarify federal agencies’ affirmative action obligations as employers under Section 501 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The regulations affect 114 federal agencies. The regulations will take effect Jan. 3, 2018. Private businesses and state and local governments will not be affected.
