In a global economy, it’s never too early to examine career opportunities.
Local United Way agencies may be able to help. Allegany County (PA) United Way and Literacy West Inc. reached out to local fifth graders and their parents to begin the process of looking at careers.
Organizers feel that fifth graders are perfectly suited to career discussions as they are in the right place in their maturity to receive information, and as it turned out, their parents found value with the exercise, too.
Some of the parents wound up discovering new hobbies as well as potential new careers.
