Japan – A third of businesses plan to recruit more graduates in 2020 (The Japan Times)

Approximately 30% of Japanese companies plan to hire more new graduates in spring of next year than they did this year, reports The Japan Times citing survey data from Jiji Press. Of the 100 companies that were surveyed about their recruitment plans, 39 of them have no plans to change the number of new recruits from the previous year, 24 intend to hire more and 12 expect reductions. Construction and logistics companies were found to be planning an increase in recruitment. Meanwhile, 10% of companies failed to secure the planned number of new recruits for 2019, this was twice as much as last year.
