The ride-sharing services of Ola and Uber are facing a ban in the Indian state of Karnataka effective Monday, reports the Times of India. State Transport Commissioner M K Aiyappa termed the shared services of Uber and Ola as illegal but added action would be taken against violators after holding discussion with cab aggregators on Monday. “The shared services violate Motor Vehicle Act and the Karnataka On-demand Transportation Technology Aggregators Rules, 2016. The cabs are permitted only to pick and drop the passengers to a particular point,” Aiyappa told the Economic Times.
