A labour hire firm based in Shepparton, Australia, received an AUD 60,000 fine (USD 45,109) when a backpacker lost her scalp and one ear in an industrial incident, the Riverine Herald reported. The incident happened on Nov. 7, 2015, when the backpacker was checking the underside of a conveyor and her hair entangled in a rotating driver shaft resulting in her scalp being torn from head as well as one ear.
