Recruit Holdings Co. Ltd., one of the world’s largest staffing providers, took part in a funding round for an India-based Practo, an online platform that allows people to book appointments with doctors.
The $55 million funding round was led by Tencent Holdings Limited. Recruit also joined two other new investors in the round – run-net and Thrive Capital.
In a blog post, the company reported it has seen an 80% increase in appointments booked over the last year.
Recruit has invested in several online platforms. Another of its recent investments was in an online platform that provides virtual sales assistants.
