ManpowerGroup Australia and New Zealand on Tuesday rejected claims of worker exploitation leveled against it in the media.
“I would like to correct those claims and categorically reject the implications that may be generated from these statements”, Managing director Richard Fischer said. “As the managing Director of ManpowerGroup Australia and New Zealand I take these claims seriously and want to reiterate that we treat ALL our candidates with the utmost respect and take pride in being able to provide meaningful work opportunities, in safe work environments, paid fairly and on time.
Fischer first addressed allegations that people lost their jobs in the lead up to Christmas, saying the roles were temporary and the workers understood this going in with length of engagements being determined by client need.
The jobs have also not been re-advertised, he said. And ManpowerGroup has not received complaints relating to workers’ conditions.
