At Ethical Corporation’s 12th Responsible Business Summit, chief executive officers from SKY, Jeremy Darroch,, Bank New York Mellon, Michael Cole Fontayn, and Telefónica O2 UK, Ronan Dunne, will discuss the challenges that business faces building and maintaining consumer trust with in an era of distrust.

A number of banks including Royal Bank of Scotland, UBS and Nordea will address how the financial institutions can reconnect with customers.

“It will not be a simple exercise in “banker bashing” but a serious and robust look at crucial issues such as senior executive leadership, incentive structures and stakeholder engagement in the financial sector,” says moderator Mike Tyrrell, editor of SRI-CONNECT.

The summit will discuss questions such as is real change even realistic? Or does the current business model of banking make it impossible to balance economic duty to society and financial duty to shareholders?

The Responsible Business Summit taking place in London, England, on May 7 and 8, 2013 will provide a forum to discuss key social challenges such as corporate trust and ways to reduce businesses’ impacts on the environment.
