Hinduja Global Solutions Buys Deloitte’s Hospital Back Office Outsourcing Business

The U.S. subsidiary of business process outsourcing firm Hinduja Global Solutions (HGS) is buying the health care back office business of Deloitte Consulting Extended Business Services.

Hinduja Global SolutionsHGS expects to expand its outsourcing services to U.S. hospitals. The business that HGS is buying consists of accounts receivable processing services and insurance eligibility verification services.

Hinduja Global Solutions already has a significant presence in health care back office outsourcing. The purchase will strengthen HGS’s outsourcing services to hospitals and other health care providers.

The deal should close in early October.

A purchase price was not disclosed. However, the acquisition should provide HGS incremental revenue of US$11 million, according to a 13 September 2012 filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Mumbai-based Hinduja Global Solutions is part of the Hinduja Group.

Hinduja Global Solutions provides outsourcing services, including back office processing, contact center services and customized IT solutions for clients including several Fortune 500 companies.

Hinduja Global Solutions is growing aggressively and has been acquiring other companies.

According to a 10 September 2012 story in The Times of India:

HGS is also on a “constant lookout” for acquisitions.

“We look at our product portfolio and services portfolio and some of our acquisitions would be towards filling up holes is our portfolio,” said Paratha De Sarkar, CEO of HGS.

“There isn’t any size when we are looking at a new market or an acquisition … this (for filling service gaps) could be anywhere between $10-25 million,” he added.

The Deloitte acquisition will be HGS’s fourth in two years.

In June 2010, Hinduja Global Solutions bought UK-based customer relationship management company Careline Services via its European subsidiary. In August 2011, HGS acquired Mumbai-based HCCA Business Services and On-Line Support Inc., a Canadian customer relationship management firm.

HGS hired about 4,000 people in India in 2011. The company expects to hire another 3,000 to 4,00o employees this year, according to published reports.
