HR Technology Merger – Ceridian Buys Dayforce

Ceridian Corp., a major provider of workforce management software, announced 7 February 2012, that will it acquire human capital management software maker Dayforce Corp. of Toronto.

The deal enables Minneaplois-based Ceridian to deliver complete cloud-based human capital management (HCM) software solutions. The acquisition moves Ceridian’s software solutions toward cloud-based technology and builds on its February 2011 investment in Dayforce’s cloud-computing based HCM platform.

Ceridian has new workforce management solution

Ceridian rolled out the new workforce management solution in 2011 using the Dayforce platform. Customer response to the new workforce management offering was overwhelmingly successful, with more than 450 accounts sold in less than a year.

president. “Ceridian’s large customer base and robust distribution channels are an ideal outlet for Dayforce’s innovation and development expertise.”

Ossip will become president of Ceridian Dayforce, the new organization.

Ceridian’s new platform will be marketed as Dayforce|HCM. In 2012 it will include human resources, payroll, benefits, self-service, time & attendance, and scheduling. Clients can access the solution via the web and on mobile devices.

Dayforce|HCM has been adapted for use by Ceridian’s 130,000 existing customers who will be able to use the new Dayforce|HCM modules.

Closing of the deal requires thre approval of Dayforce’s shareholders and of the Canadian court with jurisdiction over the transaction.
