Social Network Your Way To Unemployment

Social network sites are part of most people’s lives these days, to varying degrees. While they provide a lot of positive support to businesses and workers on a regular basis, it is not always the case. Every thought or action does not and should not be posted.

Social networking sites enable potential employers to research a job candidate just as current employers can check out their employees to see what they’re doing and saying about themselves and their job.

What this means is that one never knows who is reading those posts. InformationWeek recently ran an article by Debra Donston-Miller entitled, “10 Social Networking Posts That Sink Careers”, that serve as a reminder to everyone who uses these sites to think twice before writing posts about being bored at work, having a problem with a co-worker or even saying that they’re working on a particular project.
