From Viet Nam News — Ho Chi Minh City — Close cooperation between government, companies and educators is necessary for Vietnam to develop a national talent strategy, according to University of Michigan Professor Dave Ulrich.
Speaking at an international seminar on human resources that took place 29 Sept. 2011, held by the PACE Institute of Leadership & Management in Ho Chi Minh City, Ulrich, said that Singapore’s development proves this co-operation is effective.
Viet Nam has many natural resources, a youthful population, good health care policies, stable economy and technology development, but it needs to rethink its human resources and talent strategies.
The government should invest more in education and create higher quality institutions, Ulrich said. The government should develop initiatives to encourage companies and organisations to create more opportunities for talented people to develop their abilities, he said.
